‘90210’ Alum Tori Spelling’s Money Troubles and Divorce Drama Intensify

Tori Spelling unexpectedly pulled out of a long-planned Las Vegas gig last month, causing fans and friends to fear for the actress’s well-being.

“This is not like Tori at all. Anyone who knows her knows how serious things have to be for her to miss anything work-related.”

Spelling has recently been dealing with her divorce, money woes, and failed upkeep on her home. It’s no wonder that she’s stressed to the max.

Money Troubles

After her cancellation, insiders stepped forward to shed some light on Spelling’s situation.

“She’s carrying so much on her shoulders right now – between money worries, raising the kids on her own, the lack of steady acting work, and everything that’s still unresolved with Dean. It’s all become too much. She’s completely exhausted, and it’s clearly affecting her health,” shared an insider.

Financial pressures are one of the biggest components. Court records reveal that Spelling and McDermott accumulated over $1.7 million in tax bills and faced lawsuits. This is due to unpaid credit cards and personal loans.

The millions that she earned during her prime and the inheritance from her dad are “long gone.” Now she’s just trying to stay above water.

As for the debt, around $1.2 million is owed to the IRS, over $500,000 is unpaid taxes owed to the California Franchise Tax Board, $37,000 owed to an American Express collection account, an unnamed balance is owed to City National Bank, $288,000 to a private individual, $69,000 to another private individual, and $10,228 to uninsured medical expenses.

McDermott shares many of these expenses, including $22,000 for a student loan and $20,609 from his own uninsured medical bills.

No Help from Rich Mother

Tori Spelling is facing huge debts, but her mother doesn’t seem willing to help. Spelling’s mom is Candy Spelling, worth a reported $600 million.

An insider shared that, “Candy could bail her out in a heartbeat, but she won’t do it. It’s got to be tough for Tori to know her mom could ease all this stress and just chooses not to. Toni is cracking under the weight of everything she’s dealing with.”

Hoarding Issues

It’s not just money and the divorce that Tori Spelling is going through, either. Recent health woes have left her unable to stay on top of cleaning and organizing her home. With so many kids in the house, they bring home sickness, leaving Spelling susceptible.

Spelling’s co-host, Amy Sugarman, asked for a picture of her home, and was slightly shocked at the condition.

“Oh, it’s not good,” Sugarman revealed, commenting that the Christmas tree was still up. “You can see the bones in here, like the shelves could be really pretty, the living room could be really pretty. You have beautiful things.”

However, the lack of cleaning and Spelling’s “extreme” issue with not getting rid of things is quickly filling up the house. It’s even gotten to the point that Spelling has “stopped having people over.”

But it wasn’t always this way.

“When Dean and I were together and lived together, I was able to have a house that was presentable because he wouldn’t live like that.”

Spelling has since realized she does have a problem and that she needs to find help to kickstart the cleanup of her home.

The Divorce

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott got married in 2006. During their marriage, the pair had five children: Liam (2007), Stella (2008), Hattie (2011), Finn (2012), and Bea (2017).

The two divorced in 2023, and each was granted joint legal custody of their children, with costs either taken care of by the parent taking care of them or split equally.

In the final years of their marriage, the two faced financial scrutiny, possibly prompting both Spelling and McDermott to file for divorce.
