Not every celebrity divorce needs to end with a sour taste and lots of legal battles. One example of a amicable divorce is DeVon Franklin and ex-wife Meagan Good.
Nothing But Love
Franklin opened up about his past relationship and how they’ve managed to stay friends, appearing on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on February 10th. When talking about their current status and friendship, he stated they have “Nothing but love” for each other.
He elaborated, “Here’s the thing about relationships and marriage is that you are with someone for a period of time. And during that period of time, you are exactly getting what you need and then you move on to whatever may be next.”
While Franklin and Good had been a lovely couple before and during their marriage, the split was a necessary factor for both of their futures.
Franklin talked about the relationship running its course, stating, “Sometimes that period of time is a lifetime, sometimes that period of time is years, but what I’ve learned is, don’t look at it as it didn’t work, it worked for what it needed to for the growth in each of us to happen.”

DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good got married on June 16th, 2012.
The “enchanted” Spanish and bayou-themed ceremony was held in Triunfo Creek Winery in Malibu, California. Around 400 guests attended the event, with famous friends like Tasha Smith and Deion Sanders.
The pair were happily married for nine years, until they announced their split in December 2021. The divorce was finalized in 2022.
Since that time, the pair have gotten remarried, and both seem very happy with their new partners and lives.
New Partners and Lives
Divorce doesn’t always have to end with bitterness. Franklin and Good were able to find love with another. F
or Franklin, this new romance sparked in 2023 with celebirty trainer Maria Castillo. The pair got married in August 2025 in a Los Angeles ceremony that honored their African American and Dominican cultures.
In an interview with People, Franklin said, “The vision was to create something that feels like us and brings our friends and family into our love story. We wanted to create an event that evokes the beginning of our love story.”
Good, on the other hand, went for something more demure.
She first met Jonathan Majors in May 2023, just two months after the actor was charged with physical assault. He was later charged with misdeameanor assault, recklessly causing physical injury, and harrassment.
Just two years later, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony officiated by Majors’ mother in March 2025. Just a month after her wedding,
Good opened up as well about her divorce from DeVon Franklin. Appearing on The Jason Lee Show podcast, she stated her ex-husband “left her.”
“What I can say is, it’s not that anybody did anything wrong. I can’t say that he f—ed that up and I can’t say that I f—ed that up. I don’t think either of us failed. If we failed, we failed upwards.”
