Todd Bridges has filed for divorce from his wife, Bettijo B. Hirschi.
The filing comes just three months after the actor and soon-to-be ex announced their separation in January 2026.
Bridges Files for Divorce
According to legal documents obtained by People, Bridges filed a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage Without Minor Children on March 31st. He cited the marriage as “irretrievably broken” as the reason for divorce.
Both Bridges and Hirschi indicated they didn’t have community property or debts, and neither is requesting spousal support. Other terms have been settled outside of court.
Bridges and Hirschi are representing themselves in the matter.
Months After Separation
The divorce filing comes just three months after they announced their separation in January. During that time, Bridges shared a statement with People.
He said, “After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared.”
He added, “I thank God for the time we’ve had together, the lessons we’ve learned, and the family we’ve built. Even in this season of change, I trust He is guiding us both toward healing, peace, and new beginnings. I ask for privacy as we navigate this transition and continue to lift my former partner up in prayer, wishing them joy and fulfillment in the chapters ahead.”
Bridges and Bettijo’s Romance
Todd Bridges and Bettijo B. Hirschi met in January 2022. A friend of Hirschi’s made her a profile on a dating app, showing it to Bridges for “market research.” Hirschi revealed the information during a December 2024 appearance on the Tamron Hall Show.
While she had sworn off the dating apps, Hirschi agreed to the date with Bridges. Just six months after the first date, Bridges proposed, and the pair tied the knot in September 2022.
Past Romances
This is Bridges’ second divorce. He was married to his first wife, Dori Bridges, from 1998 to 2012. They share a son, Spencir, and a daughter, Bo.
Hirschi has four children of her own from a previous marriage: Rockwell, Modette, Attalie Anne, and Piper.
