Stephen Nedoroscik and Tess McCracken have officially gone their separate ways.

McCracken confirmed the news in an April 4th TikTok video, stating the pair broke up earlier in 2026.
She said, “Stephen and I are no longer together, and we haven’t been since the beginning of January. I’ve been putting off making a formal announcement like this for the last few months, but it’s been long enough, and people figured it out.”
“[My] social media has been cleaned out,” she added. “I can’t post anything now without getting at least a few comments and I know there have been multiple Reddit threads. And so, I feel like it’s just easier to have it out in the open and not really have to hide it anymore.”
She finished her statement with, “I wasn’t really trying to hide it in the first place, but it’s weird to have to announce your breakup.”
No Drama
While the breakup after 10 years together may be shocking, there was no bad blood or drama between them, stating it “was really just time.”
“There wasn’t some big blow-up fight where somebody stormed out. There wasn’t any cheating. Neither of us came out as gay, much to several people’s disappointment,” McCracken explained. “This wasn’t, you know, I’d put an ultimatum of ‘propose by New Year’s, or I’m gone’ kind of thing — none of that.”
She continued, “We were together for almost 10 years. We met and got together when we were 17 and 18. As it turns out, there are things that didn’t matter at 18 that matter when you’re in your late 20s. And things that mattered then that don’t anymore and…life happens.”
The couple’s living situation also played a role in their split.
“Our lease was up anyways in the middle of January, and so, it was just the time to make that call,” Tess shared.
She also took primary custody of the couple’s cat.
“I already handled a lot of his care, and Stephen is allergic to cats. It just worked out that way.”
McCracken Finding Herself
After sharing the details of their breakup, McCracken talked about how she and the cat, Yushu, are “doing well.”
“It’s been a few months now in the new apartment. I’m really just getting back into things that I want to do and just rediscovering what those things are,” she said.
“[I’m] really just trying to come to terms with who I am and what I enjoy doing when there’s not someone else to consider,” she added. “I absolutely wish Stephen all the best, there’s no bad blood. I want to see him succeed in everything, but the way that support is coming has to be different now.”
Their Relationship
Stephen and Tess’ relationship began at Penn State University in 2016. McCracken was part of the women’s gymnastics team, while Nedoroscik was part of the men’s gymnastics team. They started dating their freshman year of college.
McCracken later supported Nedoroscik at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he won two bronze medals through his pommel horse skills.
Later that year, they made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
