Gordon Ramsay is finally sharing his side of the story surrounding the Adam Peaty family feud.
Ramsay and his wife, Tana, have spoken out about the troubles surrounding the family, the nuptials, and sharing another side of the story.
Tarnished Nuptials
Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay tied the knot on December 27th at Bath Abbey, but their happy day was soured.
Headlines in the weeks leading up to the wedding focused on Adam’s mother, Caroline, speaking out about not being invited to Holly’s hen weekend. Later, Caroline and the rest of the Peaty family, except Adam’s sister, Bethany, were dropped from the wedding.
The dispute forced Adam to speak out about his disappointment in his family for increasing the feud, and now others are also speaking out.
Ramsey Shares His Side
Just around a month after the wedding, Gordon Ramsay is addressing the Peaty family feud.
He stated to Daily Mail: “It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing — none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance — we welcomed them. We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.”
Further, Ramsay hopes a truce is on the horizon. “I would like to go up to Nottingham with Tana and see the and draw a line in the sand. It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend [the wedding] and so we had to respect that. … That’s nothing to do with Tana and me. But we are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together.”
Tana agreed with her husband’s sentiments about the whole situation, saying, “We’ve had fallouts within my family, there are no winners. I’m so grateful we got through mine and have happy relationships again. You don’t have to be best friends, but be civil. You can’t be happy when there’s a fallout going on. It’s really negative, and no one wants that.”
Feud with the Peaty Family
The feud surrounding the Peaty family has been going on for a while.
When Caroline learned she was not invited to the nuptials, she was extremely hurt.
In an interview with Daily Mail, she said, “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out. This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together — my family is broken.”
Though she did go on to say, “They are both still loved, there is nothing I won’t forgive, and I want them to have the best day.”
In other comments, Caroline believed that Adam was “in Gordon’s clutches.” Or that the Ramsays were “pulling him away” from his family. Other family members chipped in to add that the Ramsays were “bullies,” with many promised gestures gone unrealized.
Being excluded from social media posts has also been a point of contention with the Peaty family.
While most of the Peaty family did not attend the wedding, his sister, Bethany, did as one of Holly’s bridesmaids.
