It’s a Royal Wedding: Who Is Invited and Who Was Left off the List?

Peter Phillips is marrying Harriet Sperling tomorrow, June 6th, entering into his second marriage. Peter is the son of Princess Anne and the grandson of Queen Elizabeth. Despite his royal blood, there are some notable members left off the royal wedding’s guest list.

According to People, the ceremony will be an “intimate occasion” at All Saints’ Church in Kemble. The daughters of the bride and groom are expected to attend. Peter has two teenaged daughters named Savannah and Isla from his marriage to Autumn Kelly, while Harriet has one teenaged daughter, Georgina, from her marriage to Antonio St. John Sperling.

Other likely attendants include parents and siblings. The bride has three siblings, while the groom has one full-blooded sibling, Zara Tindall. Both of Peters parents are in their second marriage, per People, with his father having a daughter from his second marriage. He reportedly has another daughter from an affair during his marriage to Princess Anne.

Other expected royal attendants include Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Edward, and Sophia. Whether their children are attending is unknown.

Sources believe King Charles and Queen Camilla were invited; however, they are scheduled to attend Betfred Derby Day on the same day. Due to the closeness of the events (1 p.m. and 4 p.m.), it is unclear whether the King and Queen will be making an appearance.

One of the most notable guests left off the list is Prince Harry. Though Prince Harry attended Phillip’s wedding to his first wife, things have significantly changed since 2008.

Per People, a source said, “Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited.” Peter and Harry had a close relationship growing up. Their distance is likely a direct result of Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship. Reportedly, William referred to Harry as “beloved brother and arch nemesis.”

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties and moved to California. Not only this, but they openly shared the struggles of royal life through a Netflix series, Harry’s memoir, and various interviews.

Prince Harry and Prince William’s history of arguments and even physical altercations has led to a distance between the brothers. Since then, the pair has only been seen together during funeral services.

People also reported that former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were not invited. Andrew’s suspected crimes and involvement with Jeffrey Epstein have left him removed from his family, including his two daughters. These daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have children of their own to protect.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Peter’s cousins, are expected to attend the royal wedding.
