Markle highlighted the occasion with two Instagram posts. Both posts were captioned, “Eight years ago today…🌙” and credited Chris Allerton for the photos.

One post included wedding photos from the ceremony in the grand chapel of Windsor Castle and earlier parts of the reception. Many photos appeared in black and white, adding to the elegance of the scene.

The other post featured photos of them celebrating on the dance floor. She shared a mix of slow-dance photos and upbeat dance moves, full of smiles and laughter. Princess Harry is seen playfully dipping his bride with the band performing behind them.

Per People Magazine, her tiara served as her “something old” and “something borrowed,” while her “something blue” was a piece of blue fabric stitched to her veil from the couple’s first date.

Meghan’s 24-hour Instagram story featured a video of her, her husband, and their children singing happy anniversary to “mama and papa” while Prince Harry holds a lemon elderflower cake with candles. The couple blows out the candles together while their children cheer.

The story also featured a small statue of two penguins that Meghan received as an anniversary gift from Prince Harry. She shares the story of their engagement party with their children, saying they asked everyone to wear animal onesies. “We were penguins because we’re together for life,” Meghan said as she showed the camera a photo of their penguin outfits.

Her final story post featured a card signed by the British Airways flight crew, saying “Wishing you a wonderful wedding anniversary.”

Through the last eight years, the Duchess of Sussex has made lasting memories with her family, as well as lasting impacts on the world around her. Recent posts feature a family trip to Disneyland and a speech about cyberbullying at the 2026 World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.

Meghan continues to make an impact on the world around her as she shares her passions and prepares for the next eight years of marriage.
