Rihanna’s Family Home Rocked by Gunfire in Broad Daylight Attack

A woman opened fire on Rihanna’s Los Angeles home while she was inside on Sunday.

After firing multiple rounds from an AR-15-style gun, the woman was later taken into custody.

The Shooting

The shooting was reported to police at 1:15 pm, at Rihanna’s home, which she shares with hip-hop star A$AP Rocky. The LAPD reported to the scene after the event.

Sources from law enforcement say the singer was home during the event, but is okay. However, it’s unclear whether A$AP Rocky and their children (RZA, Riot Rose, and Rocki) were home at the time.

Before the police reported, the woman drove up to the home and started shooting. Police describe the gun as an AR-15-style rifle. The weapon was later recovered by officers when they reported to the call about an assault with a deadly weapon.

As of now, the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division is investigating.

Video from news choppers revealed bullet holes in a gate near the home, along with the street being blocked by yellow crime scene tape.

Suspect in Custody

During the shooting, around four rounds or fragments hit the property, according to the Los Angeles police. After the shooting, the police were able to locate the suspected shooter.

The suspect was taken into custody. Law enforcement sources describe the suspect as a female around 30 years old. Her name has not been released.

LAPD Captain Mike Bland revealed in a statement that more information, including booking allegations, would be released on Monday.

Reasoning for Shooting

After taking the woman into custody, authorities are now investigating the motive behind the shooting. As of now, it’s unclear what prompted the woman to open fire.

Rihanna’s and A$AP Rocky’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment as of yet.

Rihanna’s home is located in the Beverly Crest area, a neighborhood around 20 miles away from downtown Los Angeles.
