Meghan Trainor is officially a mom of three. Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, announced on Instagram their third child, Mikey Moon Trainor.
She was born via surrogate on January 18th, 2026, surrounded by her new family, “superwoman surrogate,” and medical team.

Born Via Surrogate
The couple announced the exciting news through a joint Instagram post. In the caption, Trainor wrote:
“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate. We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible.”
She went on to say, “We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family. We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”
Health During Past Pregnancies
As mentioned above, the surrogacy decision was centered around Trainor’s health.
For a long time, the pop superstar has wanted a big family. Even after birthing her first son, Riley, in 2021, she told People that she’s “ready for three more kids!”
During a later interview with KIIS FM in 2025, Meghan Trainor talked about both her boys being delivered via caesarean section. This procedure is not for the weak and can impact future pregnancies and deliveries.
On top of the c-sections, Trainor also had to deal with gestational diabetes during one of her pregnancies. “I’ve been on a fitness journey since I got healthy,” she explained. “And it started with when I was pregnant; I had gestational diabetes. And I was like, ‘Oh, I got to learn about health and fitness.'”
Trainor’s priority is her family and her career, and staying as healthy as possible is key to keeping those priorities.
Baby No. 3’s Middle Name
It’s not just the parents who are excited for the baby girl. 4-year-old Riley and 2-year-old Barry are super excited for a younger sister. Along with their excitement, the boys had another role in their baby sister’s life: her middle name.
Riley and Barry helped pick the middle name “Moon,” and it fits perfectly. The whole family and the internet are over the “Moon” for Mikey.
Outpouring of Love
Once the announcement was posted on social media, a wave of love rushed in, from both fans and superstars alike. Several celebrity friends congratulated the couple, including Jessie J, Michael Bublé, Jenna Bush Hager, Khloe Kardashian, Zara Larsson, and others.
