“Days Of Our Lives” Actor Patrick Muldoon Dead at 57 After Heart Attack

Patrick Muldoon, known for his roles in Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place, and Starship Troopers, died suddenly after suffering a heart attack on Sunday, April 19th.

The actor was only 57 years old.

Patrick Muldoon’s Death

Muldoon’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, shared the events with TMZ.

Patrick went to take a shower on Sunday morning after having a cup of coffee with his girlfriend in their home. After he was gone for a while, his girlfriend went to check on him and found him unconscious on the bathroom floor.

Paramedics were called and tried to revive Patrick, but there was nothing they could do. He was pronounced dead due to a heart attack.

Condolences have already been flooding social media.

Fellow actor Jake Getman posted on Instagram about Muldoon, writing, “RIP Patrick Muldoon. 🕊️ Worked with him when I was 8 on Little Dead Rotting Hood — a great guy and always kept the energy light. #gonetoosoon.”

Acting Success

Patrick Muldoon started his acting career while still in college, playing Matt on the 1990 sitcom, Who’s The Boss? After graduating, he played Jeffrey Hunter in Saved By The Bell.

Muldoon’s launch into fame came from playing Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives from 1992 to 1995. He reprised the role from 2011 to 2012. He added another soap opera to his belt by playing Richard Hart in Melrose Place for three seasons.

Along with television roles, Patrick Muldoon appeared on the big screen in several movie roles. These include Starship Troopers, Deadlock, Vanquish, Dakota, Marlowe, and Murder at Hollow Creek.

His most recent film role, Dirty Hands, will be released later this year.

Work as Producer

Along with acting, Muldoon had a prosperous career as a producer.

He worked on a bunch of movies, including The Tribes of Palos Verdes, Arkansas, Marlowe, The Card Counter, The Dreadful, and Riff Raff. His next project was Kockroach, serving as an executive producer.

The film is currently in production, starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin. Muldoon posted on Instagram just two days before his death about the film.

He wrote, “So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazzie Beetz And Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia 🇦🇺.”

According to Variety, Muldoon is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart, along with parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon, Sr.; sister and brother-in-law Shana and Ahmet Zappa, niece Halo, and nephew Arrow.
