Buffy the Vampire Slayer star James Marsters is closing the book on marriage number two.
The divorce between him and Patricia Jasmin Rahman is nearly finalized after a long, five-year legal debacle.
End of Second Marriage
Legal documents obtained by TMZ have confirmed the divorce between Marsters and Rahman.
The pair figured out a written agreement that covered everything (property division, marital rights, spousal support) and then signed on the dotted line. All that’s left for the divorce to be finalized is for a judge to sign off on the deal.
The documents end nearly five years of being separated, with Rahman first filing for divorce just shortly after what would have been their 10th wedding anniversary.
The soon-to-be exes have a 23-year age gap and no kids together, reflecting the filing for a “dissolution of marriage without minor children.”
Marsters and Rahman’s Relationship
Marsters and Rahman first met each other at a concert in Amsterdam. Talking about their meet-cute to People in 2006, Marsters shared how close their relationship came to being a missed opportunity.
“I met her backstage and got her phone number, but then my jeans were cleaned out by the crew and they threw it out,” he said.
“I’d given her my number, but she took down one digit wrong. It took her six months to call all of the different combinations.”
After finally getting in touch, the pair dated until May 2010, when Marsters romantically proposed in Trier, Germany. They married less than a year later in Los Angeles in January 2011.
Marsters Previous Marriage
As mentioned above, this wasn’t Marsters’ first marriage. He was previously married to Liane Davidson from 1989 to 1997.
The pair share a 27-year-old son, Sullivan, and were married for eight years before splitting.
