Lindsay Lohan‘s stepmother, Kate Lohan, is once again in legal trouble. She was arrested for allegedly attacking Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, on Tuesday.
Kate Lohan Arrested
Court documents from Page Six revealed Kate was booked for assaulting a family/household member with a previous conviction, and was taken to a Harris County, Texas, jail on April 14th.
She is being held on a $35,000 bond ahead of an arraignment in court on April 16th. Court records further indicate Kate was intoxicated during her arrest, and as a condition of her release, she must undergo mandatory alcohol testing.
Further, she is barred from having any contact with Michael, with whom she shares sons Landon (13) and Logan (10).
The Altercation
On April 14th, Kate was at the house when she and Michael were supposed to exchange their kids. However, things turned ugly when Kate became irritable over being woken up.
Sources claim that Kate became violent, punching Michael and giving him a bloody nose in the altercation. Shortly after, Kate and Michael were in the kitchen, and she grabbed a steak knife and threw it at her ex. Thankfully, Michael was not injured by the knife, as it bounced off his chest.
Police arrived at the home shortly after and arrested Kate, escorting her away in handcuffs to the station.
Past Issues

This is not the only time Kate and Michael have had an altercation.
Last February, Michael was arrested for assault after allegedly getting physical with Kate. He was charged with “continuous violence against the family” after police found him outside one of Kate’s doctor’s appointments.
Kate also filed a report that Michael flipped her out of a chair a few days before.
She also filed charges at one point, claiming domestic abuse, though the charges were unfounded and dismissed by the district attorney.
In April 2025, Michael was sentenced to nine months in prison for violating his parole by allegedly assaulting Kate. The prison sentence was connected to a past arrest in 2022 for patient brokering.
Kate shared her thoughts with Radar Online, saying, “I pray that justice prevails through the evidence the courts of Texas and Florida have due to these ongoing felony cases with no bonds. We pray for ongoing privacy during this time.”
Michael served his time at the Palm Beach County Detention Center in Florida.
When released in October 2025, he shared with TMZ, “I’m thankful for my early release and being reunited with my boys. This should have never happened. It was wrong! As usual, there’s a lot more to the story than what’s being reported. I’m just happy to be free and I’m sorry for the negative press it has caused my family.”
As for Kate, in 2024, she was previously convicted of assaulting a family member.
