Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly planning a visit to the U.K. for the first time in four years. They are expected to bring their children with them.

Though Prince Harry is a born royal and U.K. native, he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped away from their royal duties in 2020. They relocated to Meghan’s home state of California in 2021, per People.
The couple and their two children – Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 – have not traveled to the U.K. since June 2022 for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Archie and Lili were not involved in the Jubilee festivities, but Meghan and Prince Harry attended several events, including a thanksgiving service in honor of the Queen at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Meghan and Prince Harry have returned to the U.K. without their children since then; however, Meghan has been away from the country since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022. Prince Harry has made several solo trips in more recent years.
The family will reportedly be returning to the U.K. in July.

Though he wants his children to “feel at home” in the U.K., Prince Harry explained that he does not feel safe bringing his wife and children to the U.K. without security. Since stepping back from their royal duties, the family has been stripped of their state-funded security, leaving them vulnerable, according to People.
“The U.K. is my home,” Prince Harry shared. “The U.K. is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States. That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on U.K. soil.”

Prince Harry reveals that it may not just be the country itself that holds meaning, but the people in it. “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he explained.
The Prince has seemingly been thinking about his father after King Charles‘ cancer diagnosis in 2024. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” Prince Harry admitted. “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
The King and his son were last reunited on September 10, 2025. Whether they reconcile might depend on how safe Prince Harry feels bringing his family into his home country.
