While the Kardashian-Jenner family is often criticized and laughed at, there are some serious side effects to living your whole life in front of the camera. And on the recent episode of Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast on Netflix, Kylie Jenner reveals ‘diabolical’ paparazzi abuse she had to deal with at only 16.
During the podcast episode, Jenner spoke about the ugly side of growing up with cameras in your face, admitting that it was “hard” for her to leave the house when she was in Los Angeles.
When asked why, Jenner said, “I think that’s because, honestly, paparazzi or in L.A., it’s just easier to be spotted, I think.”
And while she clarified that the parparazzo don’t wait outside her residence anymore, it had been “so insane” when she was younger.
“I don’t even know how I’m like a normal person right now,” she said. “The things that they would say to me and how they would treat me as a child are diabolical. Like inappropriate.”
According to the 28-year-old reality star, she would “be coming out of a thing, and they would be like, ‘You f— sl– when I was 16.”
Shane immediately responded with shock, saying, “You’re lying.”
However, Jenner insisted that it was the case. She described how photographers would aggressively surround her vehicle while she tried to escape unnoticed. “I’m not lying. The things that they would say to me…” she said, saying she often refused to stop for photos.
“I would never try to give them a phoot. So, I would just jump into the car, and then there would be like six of them, and they would stand in front of my car as I was like 16, turning my car on.”
But that’s not all. She said that some even tried to provoke her in homes to grab scandalous images they could profit from. “They would all stand out because I would be hiding,” she explained, saying that certain paparazzi mocked her.
“I didn’t have security until after I had my daughter, because I really didn’t want to be – I really wanted to not have security.”
When Shane asked if she was just completely alone, Jenner quietly replied, “Yes.”
