The Ramsay family just got some very exciting news, and Gordon couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
Holly Ramsay, 26, and her husband, Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty, announced on Saturday that they are expecting their first child together. A baby girl, due in December 2026. Holly shared the news on Instagram with a wholesome photo of the couple in their garden, smiling at each other. The caption said it all: “Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026. We can’t wait to meet our baby girl.”
The comments section filled up fast. Gordon himself reacted almost immediately, writing that he was going to be a very overexcited grandad. Holly’s younger sister, Tilly, called it the best news ever. The Beckham family, close friends of the Ramsays who attended the couple’s wedding, were quick to send their love too.
A Baby Girl on the Way and a Very Proud First-Time Grandad
This will be the first grandchild for Gordon and his wife Tana Ramsay, who are already parents to a full house: Megan, 28, Jack, 26, Matilda “Tilly,” 24, Oscar, 7, and Jesse, 2. Holly has spoken openly about wanting a big family of her own. She recently told HELLO! that growing up with so many siblings felt like having five extra best friends built in, and that she’d love the same for her own kids one day.
While this will be Holly’s first child, the baby girl will be Adam’s second. The Olympic champion is already a dad to George, five, who he welcomed with his ex-partner Eirianedd Munro.
How Holly and Adam’s Love Story Started
Adam reportedly met Holly through her sister Tilly when the two took part in the BBC dancing program “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2021. From there, things clearly moved fast. The couple announced their engagement in September 2024 after Peaty proposed while they were on vacation in Crete.
They tied the knot on December 27, 2025, in a star-studded ceremony at Bath Abbey, followed by a reception at Kin House. The wedding was everything you’d expect from the Ramsay family: lavish, celebrity-filled, and very much a moment. That said, it wasn’t without some turbulence.
The Wedding That Came With Baggage
The lead-up to the nuptials was overshadowed by a very public family feud on Adam’s side. Reports indicated that Adam’s mother, Caroline, and father, Mark, were banned from attending the wedding, with Peaty’s sister Bethany being the only member of his immediate family present. Things got messier when Peaty’s parents reportedly described Gordon as a big bully who had pushed them too far. Claims that Gordon later dismissed as absolute nonsense.
The dust seems to have settled since then, and with a baby girl on the way, the focus is firmly on the future. Six months after saying their vows, Holly and Adam are already onto the next chapter.
