Britney Spears Shares “Spiritual Journey” After Pleading Guilty to DUI

Britney Spears is optimistic about the future, stating she’s on a spiritual journey after her guilty plea to her recent DUI case.

Spears’ Spiritual Journey

Spears took to Instagram and posted a yellow-and-white snake she saw at the pet store on Saturday with her two sons.

She wrote in the caption, “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is. … Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck…”

Spears added, “I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey … all a blessing in disguise. I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never ending journey and sometimes I just stop, look up and saw wow God I think that was you and smile on!!!!”

Pleading Guilty

The singer did not appear at the Ventura Superior Court for her reckless driving sentence on Monday, May 4th. Instead, she was represented by her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein.

Goldstein accepted an offer to plead guilty to a “wet reckless” charge. The reduced charge is common in cases for first-time offenders with low blood alcohol content and no prior crashes.

Spears was then sentenced to 12 months’ probation and one day in jail, credited as time served, and fined $571. Additionally, she must attend a three-month DUI program, see a psychologist once a week, and a psychiatrist twice a month.

After the deal went through, Michael Goldstein talked with Page Six.

He shared, “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct. She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”

Britney Spears checked herself into a rehab facility on April 12th.

An insider shared, “This was her own choice. This isn’t about one substance in particular, it has a dual purpose…this is about Britney putting her mental health first and taking some time for herself to focus on the things that are important to her.”

This included her children, Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19), whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A few weeks after entering the facility, People confirmed that Spears left on May 1st.

A source shared Spears was “doing really well” since her release, with another stating her children have been Spears’ rock through her trying times.

DUI Arrest

Spears was arrested on March 4th.

At the time of her arrest, a rep made a statement to People. They said it “was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.”

They added, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
