The Superman actor from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman took to X this weekend to reshare posts about the new Supergirl, Milly Alcock.
He first reposted a photo of Alcock dressed as Supergirl with several ear piercings on Sunday, June 7. The user said, “Wait… if Supergirl’s skin is bulletproof, how does she have ear piercings?” Cain responded with a thinking emoji.

Fans immediately jumped to Alcock’s defense. One user wrote, “Because you are shallow and cruel.”
Another user tried to level with the actor, saying, “I won’t criticize your acting, but this isn’t it, Dean. You were loved by hundreds of thousands around the world. She’s a young kid getting into the business, show her the love they showed you.”
Many fans also pointed out that Cain’s comments were not representative of who Superman is. They pointed out the negative feedback Cain received during his time as Superman, saying he should support Alcock instead of bringing her down.

Users shared statements such as “I’d have thought you’d have more sympathy considering the prejudiced comments you received when you got the part in the 90s,” and “You are old enough to be her father and have a big voice. Maybe don’t empower her bullies.”
Amidst Dean Cain’s negativity, Alcock has received a lot of support for the upcoming movie.

Per Page Six, the new Supergirl movie is set to release on June 26. She worked alongside David Corenswet, who is the current Superman in the DC universe.
The Australian actress has been featured in the HBO series House of the Dragon as young Rhaenyra Targaryen, and in the show Upright as Meg Adams.
