Josh Gad is prioritizing his family after revealing his mother is dealing with a “serious medical emergency.”
Along with leaving the new Frozen-related Disneyland event early, he is asking fans to keep his family in their prayers.
Frozen Celebration Cut Short
Gad first shared news about his mother’s condition earlier in the week, while he was at Disneyland Paris for the opening of New World of Frozen.
However, he needed to leave the event early due to his mother’s health crisis.
He shared on social media, “So truly heartbroken that I arrived today to take a tour and celebrate the new New World of Frozen at @disneylandparis this week and instead have to leave tomorrow morning (before I even have a chance to see any of it) to be with my mother who is unfortunately dealing with a serious medical emergency.”
He added on Instagram, “Thank you to the entire staff of my beautiful hotel, and all of the people who organized this incredible event that will sadly have to wait for another day. In the meantime, please keep my mom in your prayers. She needs all the good energy she can get.”
Thoughts and Prayers
Along with sharing a post about departing the new Frozen experience, Gad posted another photo on Instagram, this one centered around his mother.
He wrote, “This is my mom. She gave me life. Right now she and us are fighting for hers. This is Susan Gad. My hero. My rock. My world. If you can, please send her all your good thoughts and prayers. She really needs them (and deserves them).”
He added another post to his socials, this one prompted by his family members. “Soooo… my brothers and all of our close family and friends absolutely HATED the pic I posted of Mom, so here’s a much better one. Lol. Meanwhile, keep sending those prayers. She feels them. Trust me. Love you mom,” he wrote.
Celebrity Support
Support has been pouring in for the actor’s mom, with fans, friends, and fellow celebrities jumping on the train.
Celebrity friends including John Stamos, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michael Strahan, Elizabeth Hurley, Kerry Washington, Hannah Simone, Kristin Chenoweth, Jodi Benson, Zachary Levi, and Jennifer Aniston showed their support.
A barrage of comments also followed.
One wrote, “God Bless you Susan. Thank you for gifting us Josh. Sending you healing and much love.”
Another wrote, “Surrounding your mother Susan with love, light, and healing energy!”
Josh’s Connection with His Mom
Josh is super close with his mother, Susan. He often pays tribute to her on social media, not only on her birthday, but on his, too.
A perfect example is his 45th birthday post, which called out Susan.
He wrote under a selfie of theirs, “45 years ago, this poor woman gave birth to me. I always think that birthdays should actually be celebrations for those who actually did all the work during the birth. So, please help me celebrate my mother Ssuan who pushed me out and gave me this incredible life I have.”
He had a similar post in 2024, writing, “A lot of people think they have the greatest mom on the planet. But I know for a fact that title belongs to my mother @susangad who not only raised me and my brothers as a single mother, but insisted we follow our dreams at all costs, even iif it meant she had to work non-stop to give us that opportunity. I love you so much Mom. … You are a one-of-kind.”
