Harry Styles has opened up about his giggling fit during his grandmother’s funeral. He lost his grandmother, Beryl Styles, in 2014 at 86 years old.
Music for a Crematorium
Styles appeared on the February 25th episode of Brittany Broski’s Royal Court.
During the interview, Broski brought up Styles’ hit song “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” asking what other locations would be deserving of a song.
His response? “I really like cremation songs.”
After a stunned moment of confusion and giggles, Styles explained why.
Laughing at Grandmother’s Funeral
Beryl’s coffin was heading to the furnace when The Beatles’ song The Long and Winding Road started playing in the background.
“I remember being at my grandma’s funeral, and as the belt started, it just went ‘the long and winding road’ (referring to The Beatles song), and it made me laugh,” he admitted.
That started a chain reaction in Styles’ mind, and it was game over.
“It feels so inappropriate because of how abrupt it was,” he added. “And then I just started thinking about inappropriate cremation songs… And then I was off.”
He went on to say the idea of cremation songs is interesting. The songs that made his list? Dan Hartman’s “Relight My Fire,” The Trammps “Disco Inferno,” and Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.”
His New Album
The main reason Styles appeared on Royal Court is promote his upcoming album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occassionally. The album is set to release on March 6th, and will be his fourth studio album.
During the interview, Styles told Broski he had “so much fun” making the album.
Explaining the album’s title Styles said it’s “like a life mantra,” noting that you “can’t” be at the disco all the time.
He added, “Loving and moving through your life and taking a break every now and then to have some fun, I think, is a really good way to approach your life. That’s what I felt like I did the last couple years and it led to positive changes in my life.”
Together, Together Tour
A couple of months after his album’s release, Harry Styles is going on tour.
May will kick off his Together, Together residency tour in Amsterdam. He will then perform in London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York City, Melbourne, and Sydney, spanning 50 shows in total.
He will also be performing at Madison Square Garden for 30 dates. These are the only U.S. shows.
The tour will feature guest performances from Robyn, Shania Twain, Fcukers, Jorja Smith, Jamie xx, Fousheé, and Skye Newman.
Harry reappeared in the spotlight in January 2026 after a three-year hiatus.
