Eilish immediately set the scene straight during an interview for ELLE‘s May 2026 issue, stating, “I heard somebody say, ‘Did you guys hear Finneas and Billie had a falling-out?””

She added, “Finneas and I have never and will never have a falling-out, ever in our lives. We’ll get in the biggest f***ing fight you’ve ever heard in your life … and five minutes later, we’re back, laughing and making music. It’s sibling s***. There’s nothing else in the world like sibling relationships.”

Their Relationship and Music

After denying the rumors, Eilish pointed out how instrumental her brother is to her creative process and making music.

“If I never saw Finneas at all, I might literally never make a song again,” she confessed. “But how do we move on and have separate lives?”

Origin of the Rumors

The pair tried separating for a bit during Eilish’s latest tour, promoting her 2024 album Hit Me Hard and Soft.

This is also where the rumors started, as Finneas skipped the tour, which ran from September 2024 to November 2025.

The decision for Finneas to skip the shows was a mutual choice between the siblings, and “a few years in the making.”

Eilish continued, “We got so busy that we would only see each other right before going onstage. Finneas and Andrew [Eilish’s touring drummer], who were the only band members I had back in the day, performed on some sort of platform that was hard to leave. Finneas was stuck in a tower — like Rapunzel! He never said it, but I was feeling like, ‘You have more to be doing than being my band member in the back.'”

Finneas added, “It’s basically true that I don’t like touring, but I love the show part of it. And I love being around Billie. This past year, when she would be on tour for months, I missed her a lot.”

Billie and Finneas’ career started in 2015 with their breakout single “Ocean Eyes,” which they uploaded to SoundCloud. While the song was originally for Finneas’ own band, once he heard Eilish sing the song, the rest was history.

The pair have gone on to win 10 Grammys together, including at the 2026 Grammys, winning Song of the Year for “Wildflower.”

They became the first three-time winners of the category, with previous wins in 2024 for “What Was I Made For?” and in 2020 for “Bad Guy.”

Finneas also started a solo career in 2019 with his debut EP, Blood Harmony. He has later released albums Optimist (2021), For Cryin’ Out Loud! (2024), and The Dream (2025) with fellow singer-songwriter Ashe.
