If you love pizza, these pizza bombs should top your to-cook list. They’re crispy pizza pockets that ooze classic pizza flavors and are easy to customize. Each pocket delivers that classic pizza taste but is perfect for game-day parties or snacking, especially if you’re on the move. Eating pizza while walking often leads to a real mess.

This recipe uses mozzarella, pepperoni, and tomato sauce, but also adds bell peppers for crunch and color. The cooking is super simple, especially if you use store-bought biscuit dough and pizza sauce. Check out the ingredients and cooking instructions below for more.

Pizza Bombs Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 can of refrigerated jumbo biscuit dough, 8-count
  • 1/2 cup of pizza sauce, plus more for dipping
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup of finely diced yellow bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup of Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Pizza Bombs Recipe Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly coat it with a nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the mozzarella, chopped pepperoni, diced yellow bell pepper, and pizza sauce. Keep the filling nice and thick so the dough is easier to seal.
  3. Flatten each biscuit into a wide circle, about 4 inches across.
  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling into the center of each biscuit. Pull the edges up around the filling and pinch them closed tightly.
  5. Roll each sealed dough ball gently in your hands to smooth it out. Make sure there are no open seams.
  6. The next step is to mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a shallow bowl.
  7. In a separate bowl beat an egg.
  8. Then dip each pizza bomb in the beaten egg, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until it’s fully coated.
  9. Place the pizza bombs on the baking sheet and brush the tops with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 18 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp on the outside.
  11. Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
