Goats cheese has been showing up on salad menus and snack boards for a long time now, even in the quick dinner ideas people share online. It adds a bit of gravitas to what may otherwise be a bland side heavily reliant on dressings.

This recipe keeps it simple. Warm chèvre, a little olive oil, then honey over the top. It’s sweet and tangy. Which is the hook.

I’ve served plenty of cheese starters over the years, and this one still feels a little fancy without needing a whole production line to get it right. The trick is to have good bread on hand.

If roasted goat cheese rounds, finished with honey and thyme, sounds delicious, check out the ingredients and steps below.

Roasted Goat Cheese with Honey Ingredients

  • 1 log of goats cheese (about 8 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (30ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey (30ml)
  • Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)
  • Crusty bread or crackers (for serving)
  • Crushed walnuts or pistachios (optional)

Roasted Goat Cheese with Honey Instructions
