This Pumpkin Spice Wine Spritzer Is A Smash Hit

While a glass of red wine or warm apple cider is always satisfying as the days grow colder, nothing tastes more like fall than pumpkin spice. Perhaps it’s the decadence or simply because of its association with all things cozy, but the blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice has become the official flavor of the season. And while there are plenty of PS-spiked products available, we decided to mix things up this year with a pumpkin spice wine spritzer.

Not too sweet or too bitter, pumpkin spice adds the perfect seasonal twist to the classic wine spritzer. Plus, it’s super easy to make! All you need is a white wine of choice (we suggest using a sweet white wine, like riesling or moscato), pumpkin syrup, spiced rum, and some garnish. The tasty recipe isn't limited to fall, either, as it can take you well into the holiday season. Whether you’re drinking alone or hosting a party, this cocktail is guaranteed to be a smash hit. (See what we did there?)

Now, who’s ready to get into the spirit? Read on for everything you need to make a pumpkin spice wine spritzer, as well as—apologies for yet another pun—the ghoul-proof instructions.

Pumpkin Spice Wine Spritzer Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz sweet white wine
  • 1 oz pumpkin spice syrup
  • 2 oz spiced rum
  • Super-chilled club soda or seltzer
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

  1. Add ice to a stemless wine glass.
  2. Pour in wine, pumpkin spice syrup, and spiced rum, then stir gently.
  3. Splash in the club soda until glass is full.
  4. Garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and a cinnamon stick.
  5. Enjoy immediately.

To make a big batch for a party, simply multiply the ingredients. Mix the wine, pumpkin spice syrup, and spiced rum in a large pitcher and stir. To ensure each spritzer is crisp and refreshing at the time of your event, allow guests to add club soda and garnish themselves. It makes for a fun activity, and as a bonus, you don't have to play bartender all night. Cheers!
