Channel 4 has scrapped Scott Mills’ episode in The Great Celebrity Bake Off after being sacked from the BBC.
According to a spokesperson for Channel 4, an installment featuring the ex-radio host and also featuring singer Rag n Bone Man, JLS’ band member Aston Merrygold, broadcaster Edith Bowman, and Comedian Jon Richardson will no longer air on April 18 as planned.

“Having carefully considered the circumstances, we’ve taken the decision not to air the final episode of the 2026 series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, featuring Scott Mills,” the spokesperson said to The Hollywood Reporter. “Acknowledging the seriousness of the accusations that have been made against Scott, we don’t believe it would be appropriate to air the episode at this time.”
With that episode being scrapped, Channel 4 will air an alternative episode in its place.
Mills was fired from the BBC last week from his role as host of the most beloved breakfast show in the country on Radio 2. Initially, the BBC said he was let go over “personal conduct,” but it was soon revealed that it was because he was once under investigation over a historic sexual offense involving a teenage boy in 2017. No charges were brought, and the investigation was dropped.
While the BBC was made aware in 2017 that the investigation was open, they said that new information had emerged over the past few weeks, leading to his sacking. News confirmed that the alleged victim was under 16, which was the information that led to Scott Mills being let go.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Mills released a statement on Wednesday saying, “The recent announcement that I am no longer contracted to the BBC has led to the publication of rumor and speculation. In response to this, the Metropolitan Police has made a statement, which I confirm relates to me.
“An allegation was made against me in 2016 of a historic sexual offence,” he continued, “which was the subject of a police investigation in which I fully cooperated and responded to in 2018. As the police have stated, a file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, which determined that the evidential threshold had not been met to bring charges… Since the investigation related to an allegation that dates back nearly 30 years and the police investigation was closed 7 years ago, I hope that the public and the media will understand and respect my wish not to make any further public comment on this matter.” He finished by thanking well-wishers and saying he misses his “beloved listeners.”
