One of the biggest reality TV shows is getting its own spinoff. That’s right, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County has been confirmed, along with some of the stars.
Hulu confirmed the news on Wednesday and said that the spinoff will drop on the streaming platform later this year. The “new group of dynamic young mothers” includes various influencers, including Really Good Podcast host Bobbi Althoff.
The other stars include Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, and Madison Fisher (née Bontempo).
DaPron is the sister of the main Mormon Wives star, Mayci Neeley, and Ovard is a prominent YouTuber. Many have noticed that Jen Affleck is missing from the list, even though People reported the news back in March, with Affleck listed as a cast member.
From Hulu’s press release, the official description reads: “A new group of dynamic young mothers in Orange County collide in a community where beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity. While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo. Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok.”
Althoff posted on her Instagram Stories, gushing over the new series, saying it’s a “really good reality TV show.”
The announcement came just a day after it was revealed that production of the mainstay series had resumed amidst the Taylor Frankie Paul drama. Apparently, the allegations against Paul created tension amongst the Mormon Wives cast, with a source saying, “The girls are very overwhelmed. They all banded together and they don’t want to come back right now. They were just getting tired of Taylor, honestly.”
Along with production resuming, we still don’t have word on whether the Bachelorette will continue, as it was paused when the news broke about Paul’s domestic violence allegations. Keep checking back here to keep up to date with your favorite reality TV series.
