Tiger Woods Posts Emotional Message on Social Media After DUI Arrest

Tiger Woods made a brief reappearance on social media on Memorial Day, posting an emotional tribute to his late father, Earl Woods.

Tribute to His Father

This was Woods’ first post since his March DUI arrest and his decision to step away from social media to seek treatment.

He wrote on his Instagram Story, “My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service. To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn’t have the greatest country on earth.”

Earl coached Tiger to a historic career in golf, but unfortunately passed away in May 2006 from a heart attack at 74 years old.

Tiger’s girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, re-shared the message on her account.

DUI Arrest

Tiger Woods was arrested on March 27th. He clipped a parked truck and trailer, leading to him flipping his car.

After crawling out of his vehicle, authorities stated he showed “signs of impairment” even though he blew zeroes on a breathalyzer test. He refused a urinalysis test.

Woods was later incarcerated at the Martin County jail and released early on March 28th.

Days later, Woods went before a judge and pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit a lawful test.

Seeking Treatment

Woods first revealed his decision to undergo treatment on March 31st, days after his car accident.

He wrote on X, “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today.”

He added, “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”

Woods started his treatment in Switzerland, then returned to Florida for a brief period. He has since returned to Switzerland to continue his treatment, landing in the country on May 25th.

Support from Vanessa Trump

Trump has been quite supportive of Woods during his DUI arrest and treatment. She posted on social media shortly after his arrest about her daughter at a tennis tournament.

The pair have been closely linked for a while, and are continuing to stay strong even in the wake of legal troubles.

Another recent hurdle the pair has had to overcome is Vanessa Trump’s breast cancer diagnosis on May 20th.

She wrote, “While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”
