We recently reported that celebrity Scott Wolf included a picture of his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, in recent birthday celebrations for his son. A positive step in what had become a very public split. This positivity continues as the celebrity has now dropped his restraining order. A Utah court dismissed the case on December 3.
According to People Magazine, the 57-year-old actor appeared in court and made an oral request to dismiss the amended temporary protective order, and the judge granted it, declaring all existing protective orders against Kelley null and void.
The story had been building around the couple for months before this move, with multiple outlets including People and EntertainmentNow.com detailing a series of arrests, social media controversies, and court-ordered mental health evaluations tied to Kelley.
The story so far
On August 28, a protective order barred Kelley from any direct or indirect contact with Scott or their three children and required her to stay at least 300 feet away from the family home and from Scott himself.
Earlier in the summer, Scott had already filed for divorce after 21 years of marriage, then sought an initial restraining order in late June following concerns about Kelley’s mental health and safety that reportedly led to an involuntary psychiatric hold.
Multiple reports, including coverage from Page Six, say things escalated again in late August when Kelley was arrested after allegedly posting personal information online, including Scott’s phone number and screenshots involving their children, leading to several misdemeanor charges related to electronic harassment and disclosure of personal data.
Kelley later responded in a statement shared with People, describing the legal pressure on her as “almost intolerable” to her body and her family’s well-being and insisting she had followed court orders while simply “fighting for her children.”
By late September, Kelley was again placed under a court-ordered 60-day involuntary psychiatric hold after allegedly making threats, with a judge requiring her to remain on prescribed medication while being treated at a Utah mental health facility.
Moving forwards
In October, the story took a positive turn, when Scott used Instagram to wish Kelley a happy 49th birthday while sharing an older photo. This was a surprising gesture given how tense the legal situation appeared to have become via reports.
When combined with this latest development, the dismissal of the restraining order, outlets like People and PageSix suggest this is a hopeful sign that Scott believes Kelley’s ongoing treatment is helping.
