Blake Lively Left Reporter ‘Traumatized’ During ‘Uncomfortable’ 2016 Interview

In a recent interview with Page Six, reporter Kjersti Flaa spoke about her experience with Blake Lively in 2016. According to the interview, Blake Lively left the reporter ‘traumatized’ after the uncomfortable experience.

The interview took place when Lively and Parker Posey were promoting Café Society, and Flaa admitted that “it was a really traumatizing experience.”

The resurfaced clip, which went viral in 2024, was uploaded to YouTube. The reporter can be seen greeting the actresses before offering what she believed was a friendly compliment.

“First of all, congrats on your little bump!” she said, as Lively was expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds.

The interview quickly turned awkward when Lively responded with, “Congrats on your little bump,” despite the reporter not being pregnant.

When Flaa tried to change the subject and asked about their wardrobe in the upcoming movie they were promoting, Lively fired back with, “Everyone wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes.” Lively proceeded to have a conversation with Posey, seemingly ignoring Flaa altogether.

In the interview with Page Six, Flaa spoke about this moment, saying, “I was just sitting there like, ‘Oh.’… I didn’t really understand all that. And then when I asked the next question about constumes, [they] turned to each other and just ignored me. That’s when I started, you know, feeling like, ‘Oh my God. They’re actually doing this.'”

The reporter admitted to being in “shock” over how she was treated by Lively. “I was just sitting there. At first, I was like, wow, this is really uncomfortable.” When she realized that they were ganging up on her, she couldn’t react to protect her career.

“As a journalist, you always have to take the high road, you know? So when I was sitting there, I couldn’t react to what they were doing to me in a sense of like leaving or talking back to them or doing anything like that, because I knew if I did, then I would never get opportunities like that again.”

The interview is clearly awkward to watch, as you watch Flaa trying to interject and ask her questions, but is constantly cut off. And when answering questions, Posey and Lively are talking to each other, rather than acknowledging Flaa. And unfortunately, Lively hasn’t apologized.

“Blake had every opportunity to right this wrong because she clearly knew very well that this interview existed and got out there, and nothing happened,” Flaa said, saying an apology would have gone a long way for her.
