When Is St. Patrick’s Day?

St. Patrick’s Day is on Sunday, March 17th this year (2024). It’s the perfect time to celebrate and have a party since the holiday landed on Friday. It’s a few weeks away, so you can take the next two weeks to plan and gather ingredients for your St. Patrick’s Day themed snacks.

Why Do We Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated because it is the day of St Patrick’s death, the patron saint of Ireland. He was kidnapped and brought to Ireland as an enslaved person when he was sixteen. History tells us that he escaped six years later and was credited for bringing Christianity to his people in Ireland. To those with Irish heritage, it is a big holiday that brings out lots of food and celebration.
