Chris Pratt may be one of the biggest movie stars in the world, but his younger children don’t know that yet.
Starring in films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Super Mario Bros., Pratt’s celebrity status is unknown, as his children have never seen any movies.
No Screen Time
Chris Pratt was interviewed by Today to talk about returning to the Super Mario Bros. franchise as Mario.
When asked if his kids think he’s “cool” for starring in the film, he revealed that his three younger children have yet to watch any movies.
“My 5-year-old, my 3-year-old and my 1-year-old have never seen movies,” he told Craig Melvin.
“Katherine is very old-school when it comes to screens and technology and all of that stuff. So, we’re waiting.”
Though that doesn’t mean he isn’t excited for that moment when the children realize who their actor dad is.
“There’s gonna be a season, they’re gonna realize their dad is really cool,” he shared. “They haven’t realized it yet, but one day.”
Pratt’s Other Kid
However, Pratt doesn’t have to wait years to share his acting prowess with all of his children. Chris Pratt’s first child, Jack, with ex-wife Anna Faris, is allowed to see his dad on screen.
He has been seen tagging along to premieres with his dad, such as the Super Mario Bros. movie.
“My 13-year-old, I took him to a screening of the first movie. He thinks it’s pretty cool.”
Bringing Humor to Hard Times
Even though his kids haven’t seen him on the big screen yet, he still has a large comedic presence. Katherine Schwarzenegger confirmed that Pratt is the star of the house.
During an exclusive interview with People earlier in March, Schwarzenegger shared that her husband’s humor helps with “challenging” times.
“For a variety of reasons, I’m grateful that I married Chris. But one of them … [is] being able to have someone who brings humor in challenging times. Even when not funny, someone who can also make you laugh in a really hard time is really important.”
She added, “He definitely does that, so I’m really grateful for that.”
Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s Marriage
Pratt and Schwarzenegger tied the knot back in 2019, and they took some extra steps before saying their vows.
“We also had a ceremony at St. Monica’s Church and a part of getting married at St. Monica’s church is doing premarital counseling,” he shared on Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast.
“They ask you questions you would not even think to answer until you have been married for eight years and then something comes up and you’re like, ‘What do you mean that’s how you think about that?’ And then you have to negotiate it then.”
He explained the pair went through a list of “300 potential landmines,” figuring them out before saying, “I do.”
“That way, if you have an issue, you talk about it and you hash it out, every single one. If you agree on it, you move on. But if there’s things you disagree on, you hash it out and you do the work to figure out why are you coming from this.”
