BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

We love pulled pork sandwiches in our house. Many consider these as a a staple of American comfort cuisine. The sandwiches featuring tender, slow-cooked pork shoulder smothered in a a sweet or tangy BBQ sauce (we love tangy). Beloved for its smoky flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture these sandwiches are a favorite for dinner, get togethers, or cookouts.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 6 hamburger buns
- Coleslaw (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker and add the sliced onion, minced garlic, paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Pour the BBQ sauce over the pork, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining sauce.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly and pile the pulled pork onto each bun. Top with coleslaw if desired.
- Serve the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches hot and enjoy.
