Oscar De La Hoya Finally Settles Divorce Nearly a Decade After Split

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has reached a long-awaited divorce settlement with his estranged wife, singer Millie Corretjer, nearly a decade after the couple first went their separate ways.

The agreement, which was reached in late November 2025, brings a grinding legal process close to the finish line, with only a judge’s final sign-off still pending.

TMZ Sports reported that court documents show both De La Hoya and Corretjer appeared in the case and agreed to resolve their dissolution of marriage, three years after he filed for divorce and roughly eight years after their split.

The story ran in TMZ’s busy celebrity divorce section, tucked alongside other holiday week breakups that speak to how common these long, public separations have become.

When things went wrong

From the numerous reports on this story there is a clear timeline. De La Hoya and Corretjer married in 2001, they built a family together, and separated around 2016. In January 2023, De La Hoya filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. In the divorce he asked for joint custody of the three children.

This timeline is corroborated in outlets including ExtraTV, Hola and EssentiallySports and showcases how slowly some high profile divorces move once lawyers and large estates are involved.

In the recent court filings, which include arrangements of custody, child support and the division of property is included, TMZ noted that De La Hoya waived his right to receive spousal support and that Corretjer would be paid according to the terms spelled out in confidential settlements. This is a common scenario in celebrity cases to keep exact figures out of public view.

Beyond the separation De La Hoya has moved on, with TMZ highlighted that the 53 year old is now in a long term relationship with sports broadcaster Holly Sonders, whom he met while she was working a boxing event in 2021.

Celebrity divorce has always fascinated audiences, but 2025 has been particularly heavy, with multiple high profile splits dominating entertainment news cycles. De La Hoya and Corretjer’s case fits into that pattern.

What stands out in this unfortunate story is the long gap between their 2016 separation and this near final settlement.
