There are a few activities to keep the kids busy on school breaks. It can be stressful when the kids misbehave because of boredom. It’s best to put some advance planning into the days the kids are out on school breaks.  

You can involve the kids in the planning and ask what kind of activities they like. That way, they are intrigued and interested when the time comes to stay at home.

1. Create a scavenger hunt.

Give the kids the first clue, which will lead them to the next clue, and so on. In the end, have some treasure for them to find or a treat, such as a coupon for an ice cream sundae, which they can cash in that evening. 

You can put clues around the house and backyard if you want to get them outside. You can even go as far as taking it outside of the house. You can make envelopes and put them at different locations around town, maybe the kid’s favorite spots, and each clue will lead them to the next destination till the very end, where they find the treasure if it is something they can have or a cool thing to do.

You can get some cool things to paint with at the dollar store, like small canvases, small toy items, and many options. You can get the paint, brushes, and a palette to put the paint on. It can all be affordable if you get it at the dollar store.

Put down an old sheet over a table and get a few things the kids can paint that way; it can kill some time. Try and make a game out of it by adding a timer. After 5 minutes, they must pass it, and the other person must continue with the picture and keep going back and forth for about thirty minutes to see what the painting looks like.

3. Board Games

Plenty of board games can keep the kids interested, like Twister as you try not to fall as you place your foot or hand on different colored dots. Once they are done cooling, you can have the kids decorate the cupcakes. Get some sprinkles and the little tubes of icing in different colors, and when they are done, you can enjoy eating them. The kids will love it, and it keeps them entertained for a little while.
